The Parents Association took on the huge task of providing full book lists to parents last year. The aim of our Book Scheme is to make books more cost effective for families. By purchasing large quantities of books, the costs to you are significantly reduced. We have decided to provide the same again this year as feedback from parents was so positive in 2018/19.
For the 2019/20 school year we are including homework journals, stationery and licence fees for online resources that the children use at school. All books apart from copies will be covered.
All of the above is available through our Book Scheme for a total cost of €115 per child from Junior Infants up to 6th class.
Our Book Scheme is not compulsory, however if you choose not to join, you cannot re-join in future years. The idea behind this is that, every family pays the same amount and makes the same savings as their child moves through the years at Scoil Naomh Barra. Some classes will make bigger savings than others but throughout the years, you will avail of the larger saving (especially in 6th class) and it will all even out. Every class in the school is making a saving by joining. Also, if there are any other books, copies or stationery which need to be purchased throughout the year, this will be funded by our Book Scheme if you choose to join.
Anyone who chooses not to join the scheme will still need to pay the licence fees outlined in the Book Lists for each class below.
If your child is exempt from Irish, we can offer a discount on a case by case basis as Irish requirements vary from class to class. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss further.
If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us on email@example.com.
Thank you for your patience and continued support,

Full book lists (including journals stationery and licence fees) will be provided through our Book Scheme for a total cost of €115 per child from Junior Infants up to 6th class.
We, regretfully, had to raise the price this year due to a number of factors: rising book prices, changes to the English curriculum, which resulted in new books needing to be purchased. We have also included homework journals for 1st – 6th classes and stationery for infant classes, neither of which were included last year. We hope to reduce the price next year after we have purchased all the new books that the school requires.
